Module 7: Digital Assessment

My assessment

The simple quiz attempted to understand the students’ grasp of the topic of Promotion as a Marketing Mix element.

The questions were chosen to test their knowledge and their ability to link concepts to business scenarios. A reiteration of the concepts would be planned based on the outcome of the quiz – it could be a full-class session or an individual coaching, depending on how many answers were answered correctly by the students.

Response summary

From the responses, two action items are evidently required:

  1. The student named Ganesh needs extra coaching to help catch up on concepts, as he answered only 1 out of 4 questions correctly.
  2. The overall class needs another reiteration of what constitutes promotional methods as 3 out of 4 students got that question wrong.

Other uses

I have found Google Forms extremely helpful to gather data as it lends itself to be used as a questionnaire. Whether health details and food preferences / allergies need to be collected ahead of a school trip, feedback on classes need to be gathered or opinion / choices of activities need to be taken from the students, Google Forms makes it easy to set up and administer. After the responses are submitted, the ease with which the results can be downloaded onto Sheets and analysed makes it very efficient.

Another application that caught my eye

Kahoot is a fun and colourful application that lightens the mood and makes it more appealing to quiz a bunch of students, especially of a younger age group. That being said, I do not think that age matters.- everybody loves something visually attractive and are more receptive to it.

Quizzes on general knowledge are a big hit on this platform. The ability to easily add images open up the variety a quiz can capture in Kahoot.
